Let's Be Real for a Moment – How You Doin'?
So many things are swirling around in our physical, political and mental environments these days – the ever present pandemic, U.S. politics and personal ... stuff. How is this affecting you? How are these things affecting your relationships, families, children, work, school, grocery shopping, your neighborhood, your budget? How about your sanity?
While it's not always easy to stay positive and remain in isolation (depending on where you are in the world) we are encouraging you to discover new ways to keep your spirits and energy up with these few tips:
1. Take a walk outside if you can – take a break from work or the screen or the couch to get your body moving and get some exposure to the sun. This can help boost your mood and increase your Vitamin D intake. Learn more here.
2. Volunteer – Now, more than ever, organizations and neighbors are in need of a little extra help. The pandemic has certainly taken a toll on many and continues to ravage resources. Find a local organization that might need an extra set of hands in person or online. If you have a cool digital skill, check out Catch a Fire to volunteer your services. Apparently, volunteering can help decrease depression, reduce stress and spark new relationships. Learn more here.
3. Invite Friends to Online Activities – Yes this is a shameless plug to encourage you to invite your friends and family to join you in virtual Cumbe classes, but taking online classes or other activities is a great way to create new memories with folks you miss. It can be lonely and drive ya up the wall to be away from your loved ones for so long. But try new things together and make the most of your screen time!
