BOOK TALK: SISTAH SCIFI STORY TIME FOR ADULTS – Climate Fiction

In partnership with Cumbe - Center of African and Diaspora Dance - Sistah Scifi is hosting our first story time for adults were we invite authors to read of an excerpt of their short story. The theme for our inaugural event is climate fiction.

DJ Jones, director of Griot Soul Films, will read an excerpt of Sonje Lavi published in Spark. In the short story, descendants of Haitian Earthers return to their mother planet to perform a traditional rite of passage.

The reading will be followed by an interactive Q&A that ties in the themes of climate justice poised in related literary work:
