In collaboration with Griot Circle Senior Center, Cumbe is presenting a monthly series of lectures on African Diaspora Dance. Join us to welcome New Orleans native, Jude M. Evans for an introduction to New Orlean's Second Line. New Orleans Second Line is a dance style that, like its music, is very rhythmic and highly improvisational in nature. This Lecture will be an introductory conversation about the History, Culture, and Evolution of The New Orleans Second Line. It will especially focus on the way communal necessities gave birth to a vibrant culture of Music, Dance, and the Celebration of Life. Join Jude on Sunday, November 15 from 2:30-3:30 for a special dance workshop exploring the movement of Second Line.
