Artist Talks with Natasha Calixte is Cumbe’s latest talk show! Yes honey! We are chatting it up with some of our favorite artists, dance industry professionals and more. We’re learning about their lifestyles, their opinions on world events and the art of expression. This week, we’re chatting with dancer, choreographer and business woman, Yaminah Legohn. She is a performing artist of West African, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Burlesque, contemporary and Modern dance styles. Legohn and her work has been featured in Dance Mogul Magazine, Dance Spirit Magazine, Paper Magazine, appeared dancing at The Apollo with Black Coffee, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," choreographing on BET's "F In Fabulous." Before moving to New York, Legohn spent time in her home- town Los Angeles, gaining experience in the Hollywood industry as a choreographer, teacher and professional dancer. She has worked with multiple artists such as Shakira, Nick Cannon, Sean Paul, N.E.R.D., Killa Mike, Nelly Furtado , Lil Wayne, B.o.B., Fizz & Boog, Mack 10, J Holiday, Tony Toni Toné and appeared on Stage/film/TV and commercials such as FAME, MTV's "Non Stop Summer", Disney’s “Phineas & Ferb," and “So Random," "The Late Show with Stephen  Colbert," BET's "The Mo'Nique Show" and The Oxygen Channel's "Hair Battle Spectacular 2." 

Natasha Calixte is a Brooklyn based dancer and arts administrator. She received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Purchase College Arts Management program, and is currently working as a leader organizing programs for Cumbe Center for African and Diaspora Dance. Natasha’s interest include exploring world ritual practices/lifestyles, queer Black experiences and advocating for arts programs for vulnerable communities.
