SABINA CIARI
Sabina Ciari is a bursting-with-color artist, creator of BLOCO from da BLOCK! and lover of everything CARNAVAL! Her desire is to connect families and communities by way of our shared cultural heritage found in the richness of carnaval and all of its facets.
While sharing carnaval culture with families, she is also a mother, painter, designer, mover, and cultural producer! Sabina has performed across numerous stages and parades as a dancer, musician, and capoeirista. Born in the relentlessly electric New York City, she is rooted in art and culture, student and daughter of world-renowned percussionist Cyro Baptista.
Sabina has practiced capoeira since childhood and has dedicated 20 years to learning the art. Her scenic and prop work have been exhibited in Sleep No More at The Mckittrick Hotel, retail window displays on 5th Ave, The Martha Stewart Show, and various advertising campaigns after graduating from the School of Visual Arts. She is committed to creating accessible, intergenerational and inclusive art with all of those who wish to jump into the parade!
